TELUS World of Science - Edmonton: Donovan Reimer's CDs

Terraform is compilation of music derived from soundtracks produced between 1995-98. Most of this material was originally inspired by planetarium show themes and then modified into whole musical entities to make this CD.
Medicine Wheel has a variety of North American Native instrument samples incorporated into it to reflect a show topic dealing with First Peoples' heritage of sky watching and astronomy.
Similarly the instrumentation and mood of the other pieces reflect this soundtrack approach with the exception of Ivory Notions. It is a collection of late night piano musings done purely for performance sake. I included it for the sake of variety on this album along with Retroform.

Past Works is a compilation of electronic music previously released on the 3 cassettes "Black Holes", "Space Encounters", and "Worlds Apart". Most of this material has been remixed and digitally remastered to provide much better audio quality than what was first produced on cassette. This music is excerpted from planetarium soundtrack productions done between 1988-1992 and reworked for album purposes here.

This album was written, recorded, engineered, and produced by Donovan Reimer. "Ancient Source", "Continuum", "Aura", and "Jungle Route" were co-produced and engineered by Michael Stearns. Far From Earth is a collection of material derived from planetarium and film soundtracks done here at the TELUS World of Science™ Edmonton.
The music has been rearranged and remixed to make individual song structures that flow together as an album. This music was all composed and produced electronically by Donovan using an array of synthesizers and samplers. The composition process is all done using computer software and the music is then recorded and mixed to a hard drive.
