The Edmonton Space & Science
Foundation's Be a Star program is a
opportunity to give a unique gift for family, friends, co-workers or clients.
It's an excellent gift as a memorial, tribute or commemoration of a birth,
birthday, wedding or anniversary. You can donate a star as a romantic gift for
Valentine's Day, as a "we love and appreciate you" gift for Mother's
or Father's Day or for any occasion or holiday. Stars make great employees
incentive, retirement gift or for other corporate activities.
Be a Star prices are $50, $100,
$250, $350, $500 and $1,000 with the magnitude of stars becoming stronger with the
high values.
All star purchases are considered
a donation and are therefore tax deductible with proceeds going toward facility
programming.
With a donation of $50 or more,
you can purchase a dedication star for someone special and receive the following
great benefits.
Certificate
- All donors will receive a Be a Star certificate including constellation name,
star name, personal message and date.
Personal Message

Special dedication messages can be up to 100 characters in length including
donor name,
recipients name, message and spaces. It can be your own original
creation or you can choose from
the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton
list of messages developed for
all occasions

Fact Sheet/ Star Map -
All donors will receive a Be a Star Fact Sheet and Star Map generated from our
computer program which includes interesting data about your star.
Celestial Photograph -
Donations of $250 or more will receive a photograph of their star.
Newsletter -
Donations of $250 or more will receive a years subscription to
TELUS World of Science - Edmonton "CONNECTOR" Newsletter.
Be a Star Computer Program -
Donors and recipients can find their star on our Be a Star Computer Program
located in TELUS World of Science - Edmonton main lobby. This kiosk includes a giant flat panel screen
and keyboard. Here donors, recipients and the general public can input their
name into the computer and the Be a Star Computer Program will take you on a
journey through the universe in search of your star. Pop up displays on screen
will feature recipient and/or donor names, personal messages and celestial
particulars.
If you are interested in making
your star exclusive to one owner in our Be a Star program, this is available at
5 times the selected donation.
Another exclusive opportunity is TELUS World of Science - Edmonton Milky Way Mosaic program.
It provides donors with all of the benefits of the Be a Star program plus a
physical star in our Milky Way Mosaic mounted on select glass panels near the
ESSO Skywalk on the second level of TELUS World of Science - Edmonton. These stars can be engraved with
up to 50 characters of text for personal messages or dedication. Stars range in
size from 15", 18", 22" and 25".
Milky Way Mosaic Stars are priced
at $2,500, $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000 with the magnitude
becoming stronger with
the higher values.
This is a fundraising endeavour
of the Edmonton Space & Science Foundation, to support
the programs of the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton, and is not an official astronomical designation.

The Best Seat in the House
The Edmonton Space & Science
Foundation's Best Seat in the House program is a unique
opportunity to show your
support of the educational programs available at
the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton. With a donation
of $1,000 a seat in either
the IMAX Theatre or the Margaret Zeidler
Star Theatre will be dedicated to the person,
company, school or group of your
choice.
A dedication plate will be
engraved with your message and will be mounted on the seat
you have selected.
