451-3344 then press "4", Teachers' Fest 2007 - printable brochure (PDF) Teachers’ Night is an event designed to give you an opportunity to explore TELUS World of Science’s offerings and ways you can incorporate our programs into the educational experience for your students. Visit TELUS World of Science and see all that’s new for 2007/2008. This special Teachers’ Night will familiarize you with TELUS World of Science’s school programs, IMAX films, our five themed Exhibit Galleries, Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre presentations and hear about our new Science FUNdamentals exhibit This evening is limited to teachers,
principals and program coordinators. Space is very limited. Call our

the IMAX Theatre. Limit is one IMAX preview per person; you must present

4:30 – 6:30 PM More details: Educational Enhancement Initiatives Teacher Advisory Committees These committees have been formed to gather feedback from teachers
regarding our programming and to ensure that new programs meet the needs
of teachers. We encourage you to participate in these forums. Most of the
communication takes the form of email exchanges – face to face meetings
are very rare. Current committees are focused on New Programs, Preschool After School Programs TELUS World of Science is pleased to announce after School Programs for
schools. To arrange a Club Activity for your school, please contact Pamela
Brierley at 452-9100 x2243 or by email pbrierley@telusworldofscienceedmonton.com Science Club This after school club takes place at your school on a designated day
of the week for a five week period. Many activities are available to
choose from, and Science Clubs can be organized for grades 1-2, 3-4 or
5-6. Students will be actively involved in experiments for an hour each
session. The final session will take place at TELUS World of Science.
A teacher supervisor Five weekly sessions of 1 hour each Rocket Club for Elementary School Rocket Club takes place at TELUS World of Science in weekly sessions lasting 1.5 hours. Parents are encouraged to join with children in constructing challenging rocket models that really fly! Experience shows that children enjoy the construction process and learn many new skills. This program appeals equally to boys and girls, Moms and Dads. A great ‘team’ building exercise for your school. Recommended for Grades 5-6, but Grade 4 students can accomplish this with help from a parent. The Club culminates with a Launch Day that can be arranged with the school. Five weekly sessions of 1.5 hours each Rocket Club for Junior High Our Junior High Rocket Club engages students with the science behind
the development of rockets and presents highlights of the Space Programs
of both Canada and the United States. Students are challenged to construct
rockets out of basic materials using both hand and stationary tools and
assembly jigs. Students will come away from the program with a number of
new Six weekly sessions of 1.5 hours each Science School Science School is a week-long immersion in TELUS World of Science
classes and activities for students, offering an intensive and hands-on
experience to complement the existing school curriculum. Our Science
Schools will continue to operate through 2007/2008. This immersion in
TELUS World of Science’s programs complements the Alberta
Learning curriculum for students VEGA Scholarship Fund In 1987, thanks to a generous individual sponsor, TELUS World of
Science established the VEGA Scholarship Fund. This fund is dedicated
to sponsoring elementary school age children in Edmonton and immediate
districts to attend a Summer Science or Computer Camp of their choice at
TELUS World of Science. In 2007, 20 elementary school-aged children
were selected VEGA Scholarship Application Form (PDF) >>
The Edmonton Regional Science Fair will be held at NAIT on April 12 and
13, 2008. Students must register their projects online in order to enter.
Watch for a display poster that will be sent to all schools in Edmonton
and district. Projects will be accepted from all levels from Grade 4 to
High School. The Edmonton Regional Science Fair organizing committee is
